Meet Kacie!

Hello! I’m so excited you have decided to join me in my fourth postpartum journey.

Let’s dive into my why - for this business, platform and redirection in my life. I began submerging myself into the local hospitals when I was around 12 years old as a candy striper - and it was there that I had my first glimpse of newborns, mamas and the magical moments that take place after birth. I started my training to be a CNA in high school and spent lots of time at different retirement centers before becoming a registered nurse. Most of my nursing career centered around oncology and hospice - which I am so thankful for. If you ever need a reality check, shadow a nurse in one of these roles; honestly some of the best work I’ve ever done.

I decided to go back to school for my family nurse practitioner degree in 2013 and have had numerous rewarding job options - but my itch to help the postpartum mamas never went away. I also became “the friend of a friend” who loved breastfeeding and would get lots of messages about different breastfeeding difficulties - which helped me realize my purpose. I conceded and enrolled in a lactation training program in 2018 and since have worked in the hospital, outpatient and in-home settings. I have also found my life passion, my why.

I’m here to support you. I’m here to tell you I’ve been there and help you get through. The resources for the postpartum period are scarce and I want to be a sounding board and create a community that can rely on each other. None of my postpartum experiences or breastfeeding journeys have been without difficulties. Personal experiences include (but not limited to): mastitis, clogged ducts, oversupply, engorgement, galactocele, dips in supply, PPA/PPD, reflux in baby, infant with weight loss, and tongue tie.

What can you expect from this space?

Humility. Real life. Little to no make-up. Victories. Defeats. Troubleshooting. Informal. Engaging. Community. Spit up. Messy house. Evidence based. Mom hacks.

We can do this, and we will do this. Together.

Kacie
